It is the afternoon of 31 December 2020. The year that was not for many. I feel filled with gratitude to have made it to the end of this year. It was increasingly challenging at times and has ended beautifully in a family holiday on a farm in the Cape winelands. I feel incredibly blessed to be me and to live my life and at this time to be surrounded by the unconditional love of family and the boundless affection of its youngest members.
A recent conversation with a very dear friend sparked me thinking about my words for 2021. We spoke about our respective homes; she was spring cleaning and making her home more of a home for herself, her partner and their little dog. Just like my friend, I choose the word HOME for next year. I have lived in my house for 3 years and I would like to turn it into a home now. A home which I can love and enjoy. A home which is truly a sanctuary from all the craziness that surrounds all of us. I intend to vision board my new space once I return from holiday… and then go shopping. For me, a house is a structure made of bricks, walls, floors and ceilings. A home is a feeling. It’s an invitation to follow my heart and be at peace in a space, a reflection of who I am and who I am becoming. Spending time with family feels like home.
2020 has taught me to be even more grateful than ever. So naturally my second word for 2021 is GRATITUDE. I am incredibly grateful for all that I am and all that I have. Grateful for my work which challenges me and allows me to have impact. Grateful that both my parents are still with me. Grateful for new friends and deeper connections. The list goes on. I accepted a challenge recently to create a list of 20 gratitudes for 2020. I felt so privileged reading lists belonging to other group members. I will continue to be grateful in 2021. I would also like to manifest more of what my heart desires and I believe this starts with gratitude first and foremost. I intend to be a powerful manifestor in 2021. I am going to be specific about it next year: get clarity, focus, visualise and tap into the associated feelings often, be patient, trust and allow the universe to deliver. I know I can do this. And I want to enjoy the abundance that life has to offer me.
I wish you all a new year filled with love, peace, happiness and good health.
