The term coaching typically refers to methods of helping others to improve, develop, learn new skills, find personal success, achieve objectives and to better manage life changes and personal challenges. Coaching commonly addresses attitudes, behaviours and knowledge, as well as skills, and can focus on physical and spiritual development too. Coaching is not a form of therapy and as a coach I do not counsel clients. Therapy is often focused on the past, coaching however focuses on the present and future. A coach, together with the client, considers the client’s current reality and facilitates the process for the client to set goals and implement action plans to turn this current reality into a desired reality.
